Small Talk

Blake was trying to climb the bunk bed ladder in jammies that were slippery! Trent did not want him to and told him, "No ladder, no ladder Blake!" I was cracking up because that is how we trained Dakota! Well Grant did not want Trent to tell him no, so he said, "Blakey yes ladder yes ladder!"

When Grant gets hurt he always wants Blake to make him better! He wants Blake to kiss it, but it is hard to make Blake do anything, so touching the hurt to Blake's head does the trick!

Josh's dad, Verne, has been staying with us! Sometimes Verne works on his laptop late into the night and sleeps on the couch! Grant goes first thing in the morning to "peek on" him. Last night during dinner Grant turned to Verne and said, "Grandpa you should start sleeping in beds." We all cracked up!!

Last night I put Blake in the bath and Grant wanted to join! He stepped in and said, "OOOOOOoooo it is coldyish and warmyish, I love it!"

Grant loves his Batman jammies! The shorts were dirty but he really wanted to wear them! He said, "Mom go wash them like Tom." Come to find out it means do it like on Tom and Jerry! Tom washed and dried some drapes that were covered in paint in seconds!! That is how Grant wanted it to be done!!

Grandpa Verne ran downstairs to get some glue for the boys basketball hoop! Grant said, "He is going to get the glue he uses on his teeth!" When he came back up Grant started asking about gluing his teeth in! Grandpa said he needed to go to a new Dentist because his old one was retiring because his hands are bad!
Grant: Are his hands broken?
Grandpa: No, they just don't work like they use to.
Grant: Doctors wear gloves to keep their hands clean.

Grant had a tiny bit of glue on his finger and so did Trent. I told Trent it would come off eventually and that it was no big deal. I could tell it was bothering Grant!
Grant: Grandpa soap and water cleans everything even mud.
Ran downstairs to wash it off, came up rubbing really hard with a washcloth!
Grant: It is not seeming to come off in water.
Randomly Grant added: Lizzy and Parker have 2 pools.

The other night I told the boys to put their stuff away or the "Gobble Bag" would get it! This threw Grant for a loop! He began asking questions (which I love.) Trent explained that mom and dad are the gobblers and put the stuff in a bag. Grant, "Does the bag have a mouth and eyes?" I began to feel sorry for Grant because he was truly bothered! In his room he hopped in his bed quickly so nothing would gobble his feet! I tried to explain it was just a way of keeping the house clean and having to earn back things you don't put away or take care of!
The next morning he comes into our bedroom with his little morning voice, hops up onto our bed, looks down at the floor where their new swim trunks were lying and said, "Those are going to be gobbled up!" He did not miss a beat during his night's sleep!

  1. I love the gobble bag. We used to do that but the kids and I would forget about the toys in the bag. When I would find the bag I usually just took it to DI because I figured if we had lived without what was in it, we didn't need it.
