Halloween

Once we got Blake and Dad off on the field trip and Trent to school, we were late to the Princess Class at the YMCA! (Although Lydia had been sick all day Thursday, so I wanted to make sure she was up for it!) We hit the end!!

We ran to the store, cleaned up the house, and made Sugar Cookies! (Something I never do because I hate the mess! Lydia has wanted to for so long I decided it was time!)  I made the cookies that would go to parties with us, then I let Blake and Lydia at it!! They had so much fun!!

We frosted the cookies! We have been waiting since May for an Etsy Elsa dress! It has been promised 3 or 4 times! It was supposed to arrive at noon on Halloween! We had to be to the Afflitos (took Frog Eye and cookies) at 5:30! Lydia was in tears, did not want to be Barbie or Cinderella, wanted Elsa! I called Josh, he ran to WalMart! Meanwhile Trent turned Cinderella into Elsa! It was sweet! Then we got the call from Dad WalMart had her size!!  Mr. Jim saw Josh there and could not believe he was buying a costume at 5:30 on Halloween! (Lydia loved being Princess Barbie at the ward party so I thought we were fine!) I dropped the boys off at the Afflitos with my salad! Dad and I dressed Lydia, quick braid and we were off! She really wanted us to be Snow White and Prince Charming! So we did! After hot dogs Trent and Grant took off with Owen and a group! Josh took Blake and Lyd and I ran the car home, passed out some candy and met Josh, Lyd and Blake at the Browns! The party was over, but we still took our cookies! It was fun to visit! Trent and Grant showed up and took Blake and Lydia trick or treating on our street a little more! We all went home and the kids were spent! We left them to watch TV and sort while we ran to the Forts!

Sweet Berry Farms

Blake got to go to Sweet Berry Farms Pumpkin Patch on Halloween! Josh was able to go with!! Blake loved it!!

Blake got to do some pumpkin activities at school (measure etc.) then paint it! He took a big one! Grant helped him carry it to school!

The kids wanted a tramp so bad! We bought it, put the box in the garage, set some family goals, met them, and set it up Saturday!! Mr. James helped a little, very nice! Then he and Justin stayed and ate hamburgers with us and the missionaries!

Grant got Sunday morning about 6:45 to jump! He was so excited! He always wakes Lydia to join him! They had Blake in tow too, then Trent! For about the past week Grant comes into my room about 20 minutes before my alarm goes off and wants to chat! I try to be nice because I want to sleep (and I don't want the dog woken up!) Josh came home from his 3rd trip to Utah Thursday (10-23)! Vegas next week! We miss him!!

Book Parade

Today was the Book Parade at school because they can't do Halloween!  Getting these kids out the door at 7:30am is hard! It is barely light and so much earlier then we are use to! Grant and Blake are handling it so well though! Blake wanted to be a Minion and took his Minion sticker book!  Grant's teacher offered muffins to anyone who wanted one, but once the commitment was made no backing out!  (Sadly Allison showed me a day later a Diary of a Wimpy Kid costume she had made! Grant was sad, would have loved it, but his commitment was made to Mrs. Harper!)

***We carved pumpkins! Little did we know they would rot in 2 days and be moldy almost un-liftable in 6!!  Funny!

***One morning Grant and Blake were saying a nursery rhyme and I finished it! They were shocked! Blake asked how I knew it! I told him everyone knew it, my mom taught me, and I said it to him as a baby! He looked at me and said, "So Grandma taught you then she told the whole world?"

***Lydia and I were talking about Abraham Lincoln and how he lived a long long time ago, no one from that time is alive now! I was explaining that we were in heaven then and they are in heaven now! She wanted to know how Jesus controls us! She asked, "Does Jesus have a remote control for us mom?" I told her no that our brains control our bodies! She kept robot dancing and saying, "look what my brain is telling my body to do!" It was so funny!!!

***The other morning Theo was really hyper! Lydia said, "Theo needs a swing set to get his energy out mom!"

They loved him!!  I think more than I do! It was funny, Lydia finally said, "Can I hold my dog!" It was very funny!!
