Secret Letter

The Simmons came over to play and Trent got the gang on the computer to write this secret letter!! Another shout out to Avery the Scanner!! When Grant saw that I was going to have Avery scan it he was pretty upset!! I told him it will be fun to look back on it when he is an adult!!

I guess Parks had a "Internet safety" assembly at school! It was too funny! The kids that night wanted to know about the man in the computer who would ask for your name, address and phone number!! Parks made sure they knew not to give it out!!! Trent decided never to chat online (although he has no idea what it is) because he might forget and give his info!

Jazz Game with Dad

Trent got to go to the Jazz Game with Dad!! He had a blast! He is very into basketball right now!! They had ice cream!!

Girly

Paper Airplanes

Grant loves paper airplanes. He has been making 10 to 15 a day. They are everywhere . . . some are colored some are not . . . some for Blake some are not!! So today he made paper airplane shoes!!

Rice Cereal

When my kids have rice cereal for the first time, I take way too many pictures!!! With Lydia here I went from 37 to 14!! Some of these funny little faces I couldn't delete!! She did awesome when Josh fed her. The next 3 nights she pushed it out with her tongue, it was very funny!!

Grant's King of the Jungle

Trent filled out Grant's All About Me poster. At Miss Tanya's pre-school they are King or Queen of the Jungle!

Becker Business

**Reading to the boys downstairs, Trent asked me why the middle finger meant so many swear words when it is just a finger. We talked about it. He said, what if someone went to war and lost all of their fingers but the middle. It would be OK. So Grant, "What if a robber taped some one's fingers down, but not the middle, then remote controlled it into the middle of a city?" Yikes!

**Trent and Grant loved TJ and Taylee's I-Pod Touches . . . so the obsession began. Trent could not go to sleep until he figured out on paper how he was going to earn money. Grant could not go to sleep because he was crying that he could not earn that much money. The next morning when I got up Trent was upstairs. Come to find out, he had made calendars on the copy machine until his birthday. They were all numbered the same and he wrote in the months. Each day had "$1" written in it. His plan was to earn a dollar a day till his birthday. Then he started selling some of Josh's watches (from China) at school. Each day, he was making new lists! Many of them - - to figure out math and keep track of who and what colors ordered. I don't know what to keep and what to chuck!

**Since my surgery, and not sleeping many nights after (kids, not pain), I am very tired and feel I cannot catch up. We let Lydia cry about 20 minutes last night. She is doing so much better!! I think it will make such a difference!! The bonus room is crazy . . . each boy has made a house. Trent's is the fullest!! Josh gets home late from school . . . when it is before 10:45pm we are thrilled!! Come on March!!

Dr. Duffy

Lydia had her 6 month appointment today! 11 pounds 11 ounces Oh boy!! (3 shots that gave her a RAGING fever!)

Grant had his Kindergarten check-up and his last 2 shots!

(Tuesday, Jan. 18 I went to my post-op and got my drain out! YEAH!!)

Next few days

***So Trent's favorite part of the story that just cracked him up (I guess Josh told him) is when Dr. Stewart at the Insta-Care came and in and said "When is the last time you ate or drank something?" Holding my Propel I said, "Right now!" Trent died laughing!!

***I showed Blake the incisions and the drain because he bumped me and it bled. He said, "Mom can I see your ear infection again?" Very dramatically he pulled on my pants just enough to see the top incision. He scrunched his eyes and oooohed for a minute then wanted to see once more. It was so funny!!!

***So Max and Claudia had to put their dog to sleep a week or so ago. They loved Chloe. So when Jill dropped the the kids off at the Simmons, Grant took his shoes off, walked in and said, "Hi Max, Hi Claudia, so why did you guys kill your dog?" I guess when Claudia told Mike, the way she said it was so funny!! Everyone got a good laugh, thank goodness!!

***Blake went back to Jill's Friday afternoon and walked in and said, "Jill, Claudia has a beautiful house!"

***The boys were playing Pirate Stories in the DVD player. Blake came running into my room, "Mom I am afraid of Pirates, I need to get under the covers!"

***Grant told Trent to stop dancing. Trent said, "I will never stop dancing, my heart is beating and that is dancing, I will always dance!"

My Appendix

Monday night (Jan. 10) a pain started in my right side! Has to be gone by morning. Nope, called Danylle to hear details about Curtis and Cole's appendix experiences! Cannot be my appendix, I have a nursing baby! (Years ago on the old TV Show My Two Dads, one of the guys ended up in the ER and it was only gas pains. I have had a fear of that ever since! Embarrassing!!) Fever, chills, nausea on and off! Tuesday night, really not feeling well, under all my blankets sweating, thought we'd end up in the ER. Getting nervous so I texted Jill, "If I end up in an emergency surgery and Lydia is beside herself will you nurse her?" Wednesday morning decided to head to the Insta-Care. Took Blake and Grant to Jill's house at 10:50am. Bumps in the car hurt - - BAD!! Urine, blood work and a physical exam. Thinks it is appendix! When did you eat last? Are you really asking me that? That is surgery talk! (I tear up, I have a nursing baby and Josh has school!) Go to AF Hospital at 2pm and don't drink another sip of that Propel! OK. 11:50AM so we run to Jill's to get Grant (he is furious he has not had long enough to play), drop me at home, Josh runs Grant to school to Costco and home. Lydia and I are asleep on the bed. Almost time to go, I straighten a few things just in case I am not coming home tonight!! Drink contrast. Courtney Long sees our car, comes to see us! Jill gets Grant at 2:30pm. Waiting waiting. CT scan with the IV contrast too, nasty stuff!! We need to wait a half hour, nope results within 4 minutes! Needs to come out! Even after a day of pain and waiting . . . I was shocked!!!! What's the plan? Chels ran to get frozen milk from Jill, Jocelyn brought some of her frozen milk, Joslyn got the kids from school and sent Trent to music. Beckee took Trent from music to Jill's house. Jill had a hair appt. so she took the kids to the Simmons house. (I knew they would be thrilled!!!) Mike went straight there after work. Back at the hospital Josh had to leave for school . . . it was his first night of that class. Lydia started to get upset!!! Eve tried the bottle . . was not working!! Chels ended up holding her and letting her suck her thumb to sleep!! Very upsetting for me. 5:40pm, Same Day Surgery closes at 6 why haven't they called me? Eve started to make calls. Finally Brent, the head nurse comes to get me!! Thanks to Eve he is taking me straight to the OR and I will recover in Pediatrics because Same Day is closed!! About 6pm we head in the wheel chair I called Josh, we don't know when she'll go home until we see inside, how bad!! Dr. Peugh comes in, cuts to it, not the nicest guy! My pain is going away, so joking I ask if we should cancel!! No really it means get her in now!! Good luck Eve!!

***Come out of surgery, not dizzy, not nauseous! Take me to Peds! Eve and Britt come with their tale to tell . . . Britt had to nurse Lydia. They called Josh at school to ask his permission! I was thrilled b/c my sweet girl was happy and smiling! Pretty infected appendix, gave me a drain, do not need overnight IV anti-biotics! Pump. I am doing well so I do want to go home! Jill calls surprised to get me, she is going to put my kids to bed at my house! Josh calls, he is on his way! Called my folks from Josh's phone b/c mine died! They had already talked to Eve. (I had 2 hernias also that Dr. Peugh saw.) Eve and her friends think my CT scan IV is very funny! They take it out b/c I got a new one in surgery!!! I get wheeled out in warm blankets. Eve comes to our house to get her car, Britt ran to the pharmacy and is meeting at our house where I ask her to nurse again!! We got home at 11:20pm! Very blessed Lydia sleeps till 8am!! WOW!!

Silly Boys

The boys were getting really silly one night . . we have a helicopter pilot, an "idiot" according to him, and Spider Man with a helmet!!

Lot's o' Stuff

***Blake climbed out of his crib Sunday, January 9 while in Time-out! Josh never told me this, so I was very surprised Monday the 10th in the middle of the night to hear Blake's crying getting louder and louder until my door opened!! I was shocked!!

***When Blake is waiting for a DVD to turn on, he says, "Wait for it, wait for it . . ."

***While playing Sleep and Wake with Grant in his room, Blake needed help turning the light on and off. He came to me and said, "It is cock-a-doodle-doo time! Help me mom!" He wanted the light on!! They had made beds on his floor for their little "house."

***So Lydia had her first double ear infection Sunday, Dec. 26. After 10 days of anti-biotics poor baby was so sick!! She finished Wed. Jan. 5 and we headed back to the Doctor Friday Jan. 7. Double again!! Stronger med this time (her poor bottom) and we hope no tubes in our future!! (Doctor Duffy said heads up you are on the path to tubes!)

***Josh started school Monday, January 10. Five weeks of Monday-Thursday, five more weeks of Tuesday-Thursday and the MAN is DONE!!!!!!!!!!! (Except an easy class 1 night a week that always gets out early in June-July.)

***January 11 . . . Lydia is 6 months!!! Grant put her in Blake's truck!! She loved it and Blake loved it and Grant loved it!!

Blake plays like there are monsters everywhere! We have to hurry places and hide in covers etc. because there are monsters! I actually love it!!

Class Party

I wish I had taken a picture . . . Josh had a class party tonight with his last year's Primary Class! They had pizza and soda and lots of energy! What a cute group! Our boys could not wait for Josh's class to arrive! Jessica Herbert, Ashlyn Swensen, Giovanna Nuccitelli, Matthew Brown, Bennett Anderson, Isaac Garside, Chandler Lemon. They played a little Wii, Air Hockey, Hide and Seek (instigated by Trent), and Pool!! (Last night Josh received a cute little musical number on the answering machine saying they would miss him!!)

New Year's Eve

Arrived at the cabin New Year's Eve around 5:30pm and it was -1 degree!! Needless to say I was stressing about getting the kids to the cabin! Once again I roasted Lyds and she was thrilled to arrive and get "un"bundled!

After pizza and many treats we got the kids in bed then watched Inception.

9:30am New Year's Day Trent was ready to sled! We told them to wait until 10am, hoping it would warm up a little!!

They actually had a blast sledding even though it was 2 degrees!!

Blake wants to hold Luke all the time! He likes to ask Jill non-stop if Luke needs his bink!
