Family Poems Spilled Soda

In an Email from John R. with picture:
It’s plain to see a drink was spilled, took the surface right off the deck!
washing down today I thought OH MY HECK
Someone has spilled this sh-t  And not rinsed it off,  Just a bucket of pool water Would take this sh-t off
Keeping the yard looking great Will require all to participate
So when a soda spill occurs, ignoring it because it’s not yours,
Exemplifies you just don’t care, Soon we’ll find this sh-t everywhere
So let’s all join forces keeping this property great, while increasing the value of your future estate.
All my love and best wishes for a neat and tidy yard,
DAD
PS. Please call me with any comments or concerns

Jen's Response:

When first I saw your message I thought dad is really ticked,
Then I realized that it rhymed and I thought holy frick,
I don’t know when it happened but I’m sorry for the s#*t,
I know it can be better if we all help a little bit,
Your rhymes about cleaning really are so clever,
This could just be your best poem EVER

Julie/Josh, totally Josh:

Dad,
I got your message,
You’re creative that is clear

That people didn’t clean up their mess

is very sad to hear,

Living far away in Texas

Didn’t stop a little guilt

I want to protect the value

of all that you have built

But due to my location

there is one guarantee

There is no way in hell

That spilled soda was me!

I hope this knowledge makes me  your very favorite kid (sorry Jill)
And to all of my siblings, please try to use a lid!

Dad:

I awakened this morning only to find
Soda and pavers were still on my mind

What flavor of soda could it have been, taking the pavers right down to their skin?

Was it Dr Pepper, Coke or Sprite

They all sound suspicious and make me up tight

Anxiously awaiting Jill, Johnny and Paul to weigh in, fills me with hope it won’t happen again

Johnny:

Please don’t assume we don’t care
Because we haven’t sent our share
We’ve had no WiFi or phone
In the great depths of Yellowstone

Oh John, how we wish we’d spoke,

Before the blame was placed on Coke
For it seems quite malicious
to blame something so delicious

Don’t let this make you leery

But we have another theory
As the look of that small stream
With boys is a familiar scene
We think someone couldn’t wait

And simply had to urinate
Now wet, smelly and in shame
They thought it best for Coke to blame

Pee pee and wee wee are gross

But please try not to be morose
The paver does have a pit
But it could have been stinky sh*t

Then Grandma later:

June 2020 is our Disney Cruise,
Soon our flights we’ll need to choose.

Do you plan to go early a day or two?

Or stay late to enjoy an ocean view?

We’ll need a decision in a very short time.

Why's it required that everything rhyme?

Grant Babysitting

Josh and I left for  Teji's and a movie with the Nelson's. Grant, Blake and Lydia were babysitting Blake and Hazel. When we left a big rain storm came through, really upset Lydia. Then during the movie Grant tried calling, I did not see the missed calls, Josh got up and left. I checked my phone, saw missed calls then these texts. Scared me to DEATH!!!  Poor Grant, scared him to death too. Grant told Blake N.(3 yr.) not put the little end of a water balloon in his mouth. Blake N. ran away and put it in his mouth, thinking it was funny. Grant tried to get it out and Blake N. swallowed it. Poor Grant, he called us and went to Verne's. Blake N. was ok, breathing fine etc. During the movie I leaned over and told Nicole. She was so calm. It was all ok. Later that night Blake N. said to Grant, "I'm sorry Grant I ate the balloon."  Grant said, "It's ok, just don't do it again." Blake said, "Can I do it sometimes?"

Scorpion

We were doing scriptures, getting ready to clean, when Lydia saw this Scorpion on the fireplace. I vacuumed it, then dumped the vacuum container outside. I didn't see it, so I went through the vacuum contents with a plastic fork, it was there.

Work with Stuart

The boys went to Stuart's ranch today to work. They collected sticks and limbs. They did this twice this summer. Stuart told me he has never been so impressed with kids before. He couldn't believe the way they talked to each other and worked hard. We were very proud of them and appreciated so much what Stuart said.

Lydia

I took Lydia swimming with the Shuman's today at the Lakeline pool.

Tidbits

Monday morning I ran Trent to the store before leaving for Boys of Summer. When I got home I found this note Grant left for Blake and Lydia.
"I am at the store with Trent. Dad is running Grant to champs.  Love, Mom
use phone"
I loved this and laughed.

I defrosted the freezer, something I have been looking forward to doing!

Grant

Grant hung with Carter and Josh. Sharma took them to the mall and the Aquarium.

Boys of Summer

Trent did Boys of Summer. Adam Nance was the group lead. They drove Amie Taylor's truck and Grandpa Verne's car.  The group was Adam Nance, Javan Taylor, Owen Afflito, Michael Peterson and Trent. It was hard b/c they wanted Jake Jensen and a few other boys, but they had to be divided. Trent  had a crazy summer this year, school ended, beach, straight to Boys of Summer. They left Monday, but typically they will leave Sunday night.

They were ready to go and Neil and Amie and I cracked up because the back of the tailgate was down and they were not secured. Neil helped out and they were on their way.

Trent's First Date

Trent's 1st date! We took them to the lake, then they went to Chuys.
Javan, Natalie, Maddi, Trent

As they were leaving Chuys, Trent's truck wouldn't start. We were at the Cheesecake Factory with the Mason's. Josh explained how to push start it, they tried, didn't work. Josh left the restaurant to help Trent abut then Trent called and got it started. I was happy Josh came back (we had picked the Mason's up:-). Then Javan had Jeep problems and had to leave it at our house. Crazy but great night!
