New Year's Eve

Josh went snow mobiling with Erin Hendricks! I took the kids to see Grandma G! Trent played the piano for her! It was wonderful! My mom and I drove to Park City in her car! We met Johnny, Jenny, Simmons, J Tall  at Cafe Rio (with a little food from Zupas!)

The kids were so focused on this funny little dog at the facility! Sweet dog who walks around! (Lydia is now our in house dog whisperer! Truly the child loves dogs!)

After lunch we headed to the cabin! FREEZING there!!!  Josh arrived about 5:30! Earlier than I expected, that was nice!  We had pizza and snacks!!  The kids performed little stories or jokes or dances in front of everyone! It was so funny! Lydia loved the spotlight and just laughed and laughed! 

Becker Day

Tuesday was Becker day! We went sledding by Aunt Brittney's house and had pizza! Papa Johns, Grant's favorite! We were lucky enough to see the Richardson's there!!!!

After sledding we went to Costco for chocolate milk and then to the McAtee's house!!  

Reese Day

Sunday we attended our old ward! Very very fun!!  Makes me look forward to heaven!!  (Condie's were sick, Burr's in Mexico and Herbert's at their cabin!) In the parking lot we saw a big van and I said, Boy would I love it if the Brockbank's were here!  Right before the Sacrament, who walks in and sits right behind us, the BROCKBANKS!!!  VERY FUN!!  After church we went to the Johnson's house for dinner! 

Monday was a Reese day! We went to Airborne, Pizza Pie Cafe and ice skating! Dad was home all day with sick Lydia! (stomach flu)

The boys slept at Jill's house!! Josh and I met Beeston's, Court, and Swensen's at Cafe Rio! 

Super Saturday

We met the Beckers at Kneaders! A tradition I missed!!!  It was so fun!!  After breakfast we went and hung out at Ben and Beckee's house!  (Josh and Ben left for a little while and went shopping!) It was wonderful to be there!!!

Poor Blake had another bloody nose and Lydia was melting down, so we were late to meet Grandma Laura at the Olive Garden!!  We had a wonderful time and it was so good to see her!!  Visits are hard because they are so short!!  

The kiddos were so tired Josh took John Kruger, Ben and Seth to the Jazz game! Grandpa watched a movie in back with the kids while my mom and I had a girl's night! 

Reese Family Party

Friday Josh worked! We met the Blanchards at Chik Filet and then Hangtime!! Reese family party at 5:30! We had a turkey dinner!!  So glad Grandma G could make it!  So fun to see everyone!!  The good thing is, it doesn't feel like time has passed! At this point our kids were SOOOO tired!! 

Christmas Day

Our kids actually slept last night!! WOW!!! Blake felt great!!  We got pictures of everything together from Grandmas, Grandpas, Santa, parents!!

We took Theo to the Funk's at 10:30 (and pie, cookies, bread etc) We left for the airport at noon! Once we were in the truck, it was fun!!  Josh dropped Verne, the kids and me and went to park in long term! We checked in, rearranged bags (thank you to the lady at the counter for saving us $100 and overlooking 4 lbs!) Verne went to his gate and it was really sad saying goodbye!  I wish he could have been on our flight!  We bought some french fries, nachos and a drink for everyone! They switched planes on us, so our seating was rearranged! I was near the front with Lydia, Josh was with Blake near the boys! 

Ben and Beckee picked us up in Jen's Sequoia! It felt a little surreal!! So fun to see them!!!  It was snowing, Christmas Day, very fun!!

We drove to their house, got their car and kids and headed to Evelyn's house! Roads were not good!  

Very very fun to see everyone!!  We ate dinner and visited!

We left Eve's about 10pm! Trent asked if we all had our seat belts on! Then on the I-15 near 7200 South a red car on our left was doing a 360 coming at us, I yelled "Everybody hold on," Josh swerved, they hit us hard on the front left side, pushing us into the car on our right (thankfully b/c it kept us from spinning). We pulled over, made sure everyone was ok!! I started to shake, Josh jumped out to see if everyone else was ok! The red car was sitting in the middle of traffic turned sideways!  Another car hit the median trying to avoid the red car, 2 more slid! Josh came back, with a girl from Austin in town to see her folks! They checked out our car! Turns out the red car was hit, which made them spin, and the person fled the scene of the accident! The red car was sitting there in the middle because being hit knocked their keys out of the ignition and they couldn't find them! (And thought they were going to die they said!) The police had all of us pull off  7200 South! I think 2 people ended up leaving the scene of the accident! Ben came and picked us up and drove us to my folks! Sweet guy carried all of our bags down too!!  Heavy bags!!  This picture is just of the police b/c I didn't get any others! CRAZY night! 

Christmas Eve

I can't believe it is Christmas Eve!!  We went to Einsteins for breakfast (Grandpa Verne was with us too!) 

We let the kids open a present from Grandma and Grandpa! They were very excited! We made sure everyone was packed, cleaned a little bit, sorted "special things" boxes and got ready for Christmas Eve! 

The Applebaums came over at 5:30 and the Nelsons about 6! We ate ham, potatoes, salad,jello and rolls! The kids loved playing together while the adults visited! We did the nativity! It was darling, but next year I might add music or something!!  Theo made an awesome sheep! 

We had crazy amounts of dessert which is fun, but I knew most of it wouldn't last when we left!! (The homemade stuff!) Trent got kicked in the eye on the trampoline and Blake started feeling really sick! I got worried!! When everyone left we all opened Jammie's! (basketball shorts for the boys) Blake couldn't even open his! He was complaining about noise and light! We got him upstairs, realized it was a migraine, took off his clothes to cool him off, he threw up a bunch, then it was just his head!  I felt bad for him and the others! I was saying to the kids, "Everyone jump in bed, no noise, Blake needs to sleep, don't wake him in the morning, we need him feeling good to fly!" After I left the room, I thought, "It's Christmas Eve, we should be reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'!" Next year!!  A migraine is better than the stomach flu! 

Tree

We took the missionaries to Mighty Fine for dinner! It was very fun!! We came home and watched Fred Claus and let the kids sleep by the tree! I was cooking for Christmas Eve during the movie! Looking back I wish I could have just sat down and watched with them, but flying out Christmas Day there was so much preparation that needed to be done!! 

Christmas Break Begins

Friday the 19th, after school, Josh and I organized the food storage in the media room!!  Earlier that week, Wednesday, he bought and built 3 white cabinets from Lowes to hold all of the food!  Truly it was so fun!!  It has been driving both of us crazy!!  There is so much to moving, it is hard to be patient!!  When we finished we bought pizza!!  Good day!!

Sunday we had the Canfield's over for hot dogs, chili and sugar cookies! I could not have done it without Verne's help!!  

Monday the 22nd, the boy's had a Christmas piano recital, "Student's only" at 10am!  I loved their songs and really wished I could go! I so enjoyed listening to them practice!!  Trent played Up on the Housetop and Grant played Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree! Blake, Lydia and I took pictures of these Longhorns that live close to the church and piano teacher! During the recital we ran to the YMCA! I wanted Lydia to try out the babysitting with Blake and I wanted to use the Cardio Theater when Christmas Vacation was playing!

Josh went to lunch with Blake on Friday! He said Blake did this the entire recess!!  It made my heart melt!  After recess Josh and Verne both went to Blake's party! Josh left to eat with Grant and I arrived! We checked Blake out and let him go home with Grandpa and Lydia to watch a movie!
