(Josh and I ran to Gandolfos.) Dr. Heras came out at 11:20am and told us that Trent wins the prize for the biggest tonsils she has seen in a long time! She said we should never have regrets for taking those babies out! She brought out the tonsils from the morning surgeries to let us see how big Trent's were comparatively! WOW!! They were 5 times their normal size and at least double the other kids. (and quite clean, which I guess the whole surgery is due to a tool she uses and how she does it)
A nurse came and got us and we waited in the room below for Trent to wake up. (He was not with us.) Then we saw the bed and little Trent sitting there awake! He did awesome!! He wanted dad to hold him and he was starving!! I went and got a popsicle and jello. He said no to the jello, but he couldn't have pudding until he had sprite or water. I heard kids crying and was so grateful Trent was doing so well. His voice was so little.
After popsicle #1 he did not want to drink, so they let him do a little pudding with promises of drinking sprite! He seemed to be doing so well that Dr. Heras said maybe we could go after 2 hours instead of 3. Turns out Trent wouldn't drink and had a second IV, 3 popsicles and then we left!! Took us longer than 3 hours!
Oh, and some sprite! (so he could go home) He looked at me and said, "Mom I am enjoying just sitting here watching TV."
So day one usually goes well . . . especially with how he handled the anesthesia!! I guess it gets harder and harder through day 10! We'll see! I flavored his medicine to grape . . . I think that will help!!

Jill flew in Wed. the 12th and Trent was excited to see his cousins! They arrived at our house just as we did! It was perfect timing . . . Trent was getting very upset he could not have fries, pizza or cinnamon Life . . . then in walk the Simmons! It worked well for us!!!
