Tonsils

Sweet thing was nervous and handled it so well!! Sweet Tanya kept Grant and Blake all day! We arrived at the Riverwoods Surgery Center at 9:30am. Laura Locey was there with Josh. They gave Trent this shirt to wear. Here we are waiting for the anesthesiologist! He was so nice . . explained Trent was going to blow up a balloon and fall asleep.

(Josh and I ran to Gandolfos.) Dr. Heras came out at 11:20am and told us that Trent wins the prize for the biggest tonsils she has seen in a long time! She said we should never have regrets for taking those babies out! She brought out the tonsils from the morning surgeries to let us see how big Trent's were comparatively! WOW!! They were 5 times their normal size and at least double the other kids. (and quite clean, which I guess the whole surgery is due to a tool she uses and how she does it)
A nurse came and got us and we waited in the room below for Trent to wake up. (He was not with us.) Then we saw the bed and little Trent sitting there awake! He did awesome!! He wanted dad to hold him and he was starving!! I went and got a popsicle and jello. He said no to the jello, but he couldn't have pudding until he had sprite or water. I heard kids crying and was so grateful Trent was doing so well. His voice was so little.

After popsicle #1 he did not want to drink, so they let him do a little pudding with promises of drinking sprite! He seemed to be doing so well that Dr. Heras said maybe we could go after 2 hours instead of 3. Turns out Trent wouldn't drink and had a second IV, 3 popsicles and then we left!! Took us longer than 3 hours!

Oh, and some sprite! (so he could go home) He looked at me and said, "Mom I am enjoying just sitting here watching TV."

So day one usually goes well . . . especially with how he handled the anesthesia!! I guess it gets harder and harder through day 10! We'll see! I flavored his medicine to grape . . . I think that will help!!

Jill flew in Wed. the 12th and Trent was excited to see his cousins! They arrived at our house just as we did! It was perfect timing . . . Trent was getting very upset he could not have fries, pizza or cinnamon Life . . . then in walk the Simmons! It worked well for us!!!

May 12

Trent celebrated his birthday at school May 12. Josh and Grant got the balloons and doughnuts for him . . . then headed to the Thanksgiving Point Farm field trip! Blake and I delivered the goods to school! The class sang to him, wrote down his favorite colors, he got to sit in a rocker and read books while the class made a birthday book for him, then he handed out the doughnuts! It was fun! (He was very concerned about getting his tonsils out and when he'd be back to school, so we did the birthday early. Plus he found out some kids would not be there the last day of school, May 28.)

30 Weeks

Unloading the groceries

Got home from the store, unloading groceries, found this!! Blake on the hitch . . he stopped laughing after a minute or two and wanted down! Little while later, laid Blake down for his nap. Flipped out of the crib, landed on the red plastic stool, or actually broke the stool with his head! (Grant uses the stool to get him out!) Poor thing!

Mother's Day

Josh got the boys dressed so cute for church!! I really wanted a good picture with them . . . some things just aren't possible!

Holding Blake's hand walking down the church hallway he was giving fives and bones to all the boys friends! (calling some of them by name) I was cracking up!! We met up with Josh and the boys and he took Josh's hand too! Jared Burr wanted a high five and Blake was not about to let go of us! We watched for a minute as he thought . . . then he lifted his foot and fived with his foot! Austin wanted a high five and he did the same thing!! It was so funny!!

Catch up!

Trent is terrified of Tornados! He is happy now to sleep in the basement. He does not want to read on my bed anymore, only in the basement. Sweet thing has to pray every night, even when it is someone else's turn, Trent prays too!! He asks for safety from Tornados, Hurricanes and earthquakes.

We found out Grandma Stanton has cancer the Monday Josh left (4/19). One night I asked Trent to pray for her and bless his heart he started crying hard. Not for her . . . he was worried he is going to get cancer!

I was reading in the boy's room one night and Trent wanted me to feel his heart. It was beating too fast for a resting heart rate. He went back to lay down and all of a sudden came running toward me FRANTIC, half crying, half screaming, just paranoid . . . not in an annoying way, sad. He said, "Mom I am having a heart attack!" It was so sad and cute I started to laugh. So not me to be so insensitive, but I could not stop! He wanted me to pray, I had to wait a second to gain composure! I tried to turn it into a caring laugh! Sweet thing has had some other episodes! I am paying attention to see if we need to get it checked out!! (I think he gets this from me . . . probably the heart and the worry!)

Trent came running home from school and grabbed his bike and Grant to meet Ben, his new friend on the corner! Ben came over everyday that week. Very nice kid! Trent cracks me up - no problem making new friends! Sweet Grant on the other hand wants Trent to attend birthday parties with him!! It is awesome when they are both invited! Just the other day we had Grant's new friend Caden over! Grant was not sure what to do and very happy when Trent got home! He did however get Caden's number himself and we called! Caden wanted to watch Backyardigans . . . Grant did suggest building with the big bricks upstairs!!

Trent has to have his tonsils out on May 13. When he found out cousins would visit and watch movies with him and bring slurpee's he was very happy. He woke up one morning and said, "I wish it was today!" Jill and family fly in May 12!

The washing machine broke and flooded and May 3. So May 4 Josh was on the phone with every place he could think of figuring out which one to buy! He is awesome at that! He does his research and then does it again!! I am so thankful for that!! When he fixes the old washer we will put it in the basement!! (and it will be used)

Saturday May 8 we had a backyard FULL of kids! 20 or so. It was almost time for B and Ethies party so Trent went out to make an announcement on the porch, "I know this is going to make you all sad, but not you Grant, you only have 20 more minutes to play. Grant and I have a birthday party to go to! That is your warning!"

If someone tells a secret, Blake tells a secret! He wears the boys flip flops around the house. Grant is so incredible at sharing treats with him! When Blake says, pants, orange and toast he sounds like Nacho Libre! He is talking so much and so well!! We love it!! he LOVES DAD and the boys!! He loves the truck, the biles, the stroller, skateboards and bikes! He is still totally obsessed with his panda, green dog, 2 black slips and a white one! It is a crack up! It honestly soothes him and makes him happy!!! Josh brought Blake a soft panda from China! Blake hugged it and patted it! It was so cute!! We brushed its teeth and he fed it a sippy! I love imitation! There is nothing cuter! I could watch him all day!! He needs to be with dad, drive with dad, watch TV with dad, shower with dad!!

Babysitter

This is what we came home to!! 2 little sleepers and a guy with Chocolate Milk!!
